Expanding data collection capabilities with Xbox SDK

We’re excited to announce that mParticle now supports Xbox!

Over the past few years, mainstream media behavior has been changing; cord-cutting has become more prevalent and behavior has shifted to over-the-top (OTT) media viewing. According to comScore, 54% of WiFi connected homes stream video content to a television using various OTT devices.

With this proliferation of devices, companies need visibility into all of their customer activity, across all apps and screens. As much as data platforms may help organize, enrich, and analyze data, most don’t actually solve the collection challenge of getting timely, usable data from connected devices—instead pushing that problem to engineers and consultants.

Not mParticle. mParticle currently supports native client side data collection across more than 10 digital platforms and is committed to extending OTT support to give our customers access to data from everywhere that people are engaging with their brand.

mParticle’s Xbox SDK lets you send Xbox game and app data into the mParticle platform, alongside all of your web, mobile, and other platform data, and then downstream to services that otherwise have no integration or API for Xbox developers.

Key Features

  • Install and Session Tracking – Automatically collect game and app install events, content views and engagement, and user-session count and duration statistics.
  • Device ID and User Attribute Association – Collect the Microsoft Advertising ID and Microsoft Publisher ID and associate known user information with your Xbox data via mParticle’s user identity and attribute APIs, just as with any of our SDKs.
  • Custom Event Tracking – Study and act on explicit user behavior in your games and apps with custom events and mParticle’s granular eCommerce API.

The mParticle Xbox SDK is available right now on Github!
